Singing with dinosaurs

We’re super psyched that Lady Sings it Better are singing at Jurassic Lounge’s closing night next week! Seriously!

This event has been HUGE all winter and if you’ve missed it you’re a fool! But it’s not too late. Come along for exhibitions, silent disco, karaoke, film screenings, art, science, burlesque and booze!

We’re performing 2 sets, one at 7.45pm and one at 8.35pm, and we’ll be live tweeting the set list so people can come and go for their favourite and not-so-favourite tunes!

Jurassic Lounge is also our first Companion Card event and we’re encouraging card holders to come say hi to the Lady team in order to get a half price ticket to our next gig!

Finally, no blog can be published without a sly reference to our ongoing indiegogo campaign for Edinburgh Fringe funds. We’ve got a special perk available for Jurassic Lounge guests! If 5 people donate just $30, Libby Wood will wear a Shark Hat while performing at Jurassic Lounge. That’s right, for just $150 Libby will look like a total dork at an event with over 1000 patrons. If that’s not worth donating for, I don’t know what is!

blackcat productions: proud new Companion Card affiliates!

We are pleased to announce that blackcat productions has signed on as Companion Card affiliates!

What’s Companion Card, you say? It’s a system that offers fair ticketing to people with disability who wish to access events. In simple terms, if you have a Companion Card, you can access a free ticket for your carer or companion to blackcat produced events such as HOMAGE, our upcoming Mardi Gras cabaret festival and, of course, Lady Sings it Better gigs.

For us, becoming an affiliate is really important, even though we’re only a small production company. We try to make all our events as accessible as possible, which can be hard in Sydney, where most cabaret venues are separated from the street by impossible staircases. Becoming an affiliate at least allows us to be more economically accessible to people with disability!

We’re playing two sets at closing night on September 20, sharing the bill with amazing artists, DJs, musicians, exhibitions, talks and screenings!
